Course Description
ITLS Refresher courses keep experienced ITLS providers and instructors up to date with the ITLS curriculum and skills.
ITLS Provider Recertification focuses on recertification of trauma assessment and management skills for the experienced provider who has already completed the Basic or Advanced Provider course.
Most ITLS Provider cards are issued for a 3-year certification period. To recertify, providers must successfully complete a 1-day Recertification course or the full 2-day Provider course. (Chapter and Training Centre requirements for these options may vary.)
The 1-day Provider Recertification course covers the same skills stations and testing procedures as the 2-day Provider course. Students are tested based on their skill level (Basic or Advanced) and will also take the ITLS Written Exam. An ITLS Advanced Provider or ITLS Basic Provider card will be issued upon successful completion of both the Written and Practical Exams.
Students are encouraged to review the ITLS Provider manual and study the Pre-Test in advance of the course to prepare for the Written Exam.
Course length: 6-8 Hours, depending on class size
Prerequisites
All students must have either a current ITLS card/certification that is no more than 30 days expired in order to attend an ITLS Refresher. Students need to have basic training in EKG Interpretation and Emergency Pharmacology prior to attending this course as it covers these topics in review form only. Students must be advanced life support providers.

Course Completion
Upon successful completion of this course, ALS Providers will receive an ITLS Provider Card with 8 Continuing Education units.

Textbook
All students are required to bring their provider textbook to the first day of class. This course is taught based on the new "ITLS for Emergency Care Providers - 9th Edition" textbook. Purchased textbook through a provider, or add book to your order.
Cancellation Policy
Once order is submitted it is non-refundable and non-transferable. First Lady Permanente will process refunds for courses cancelled within 24-hours of placed order; after this timeframe the course fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Refunds will be charged a $50.00 non-refundable processing fee.
First Lady Permanente reserves the right to cancel this course up to 2- business days prior to the course date. The above cancellation policy does not apply if First Lady Permanente cancels the course. Student will receive a full refund less the cost of unreturned textbook fees or fees for textbooks returned in unusable condition.
